Zusammenfassung: | A nonwoven textile, (partly) composed of cellulosic material, and of wt. 50-300 g/m2, is impregnated with a homogenised liq. mixt. This liq. is composed of: (1) An aq. dispersion contg. (a) 15-60 wt.% of a thermo-coagulating polymer, of the type generally used as a textile fibre binder; (b) 1-2 wt.% of a coagulating agent for the binder; (c) possibly auxiliary ingredients, e.g. 0-2 wt.% dispersion stabiliser, 0-5 wt.% colourants and solid fillers, 0-10 wt.% water-miscible thermosetting resins; and (2) An expansion agent, at 20-120 wt.% on the polymer, which is a liq. of b.pt. 30-80 degrees C, and which does not dissolve or swell the polymer. The impregnated material is treated at 40-90, pref. 70-80 degrees C to coagulate the polymeric material, and evaporate the expansion agent. It is then washed with water, and dried and partially crosslinked at >=100 degrees C. The thermocoagulating polymer is pref. a (co)polymer of an acrylic ester, acrylic acid, or acrylonitrile, or a butadiene/acrylonitrile copolymer. The expansion agent is pref. CCl3F, n-hexane, etc. The products are used to clean glass panes, floors, etc. They are very porous, this being due to the evapn. of the expansion agent, instead of the usual method employing a costly machine to produce a foam mechanically. |
