Zusammenfassung:	A parking brake system for vehicles, in particular heavy-duty vehicles, comprises a parking brake actuator (9) including an actuation pushrod (14), slidably housed within a hydraulic cylinder (10) and adapted to act on a release mechanism (15) of a vehicle brake for unlocking said brake, and a hydraulic pump (18) operated by an electric motor (20), adapted to deliver a flow of fluid into the hydraulic cylinder (10) for moving the actuation pushrod (14).
