Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a process for the recovery of phenol dissolved in an aqueous stream of a plant for the production of phenol from cumene, containing Na2SO4 and various organic impurities which consists in the extraction of the phenol with a solvent and its subsequent recovery from the extracted product by distillation or re-extraction and is characterized in that the extraction of phenol from the aqueous stream is carried out in a multistep extractor, using a ratio extracted product/refined product of between 0.1 and 1 v/v and at a temperature of between 20 DEG - 70 DEG C.
