Process and means for transferring plant seedlings which are to be transplanted from their germination trays to other locations

The invention relates to plant-growing techniques in which a seed 2 is germinated in a cavity 11, 13 containing a suitable growing medium. An auxiliary body 20 is inserted into each cavity 11, 13 so that a portion 21 of the body 20 is buried in the growing medium and a portion 22 projects out above the cavity 11, 13; the body 20 is inserted in the cavity 11, 13 before the root system of the seed 2 has developed; one then waits until the root system has developed sufficiently to enable it to anchor itself to the body 20; at this point it is possible to grasp the portion 22 manually or mechanically and expediently extract the seedling from the cavity 11, 13 and transplant it as desired. L'invenzione riguarda le tecniche di coltivazione in cui un seme (2) viene fatto germinare in una rispettiva sede (11, 13) contenente idoneo substrato di coltura. E' previsto l'inserimento di un corpo supplementare (20) in ogni sede (11, 13) in modo che una porzione (21) del corpo (20) risulti inserita nel substrato di coltura e una porzione (22) sporga esternamente sopra la sede (11, 13); il corpo (20) viene inserito nella sede (11, 13) prima che si sia sviluppato l'apparato radicale del seme (2); quindi, si attende fino a che l'apparato radicale ha sviluppato un inviluppo capace di vincolare l'apparato radicale stesso al corpo (20); a questo punto, afferrando a mano o meccanicamente la porzione (22) si può vantaggiosamente estrarre la piantina dalla sede (11, 13) e movimentarla come si vuole.
