Sterilant compsn. for killing Salmonella choleraesuis (ATCC 107089, Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 19659), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 15442), Bacillus subtilis (ATCC 19659), Clostridium sporogenes (ATCC 3584), Trichophyton mentagrophytes (ATCC 27259), Herpes Simplex I and II, Coxsackie viruses BI and A9, Vaccinia virus, Influenza virus A, Adeno virus II, Poliovirus I, Rhino virus, Cytomegalo virus and Corona virus on nonabsorbent surfaces comprises (by wt.): 0.05-3% (10-18C) alkyl benzyl di-Me NH4 chloride (I); 0.5-7 % glutaraldehyde (II); 0.05-3 % acetyl di-Me Et NH4 bromide (II); 0.1-3 % of a 1-6C alcohol (IV); 0.05-2 % less than totally oxidized salt (V) (Na, K, Li or NH4 nitrite, bisulphite or chlorite); 0.1-3 % polyol (VI) (ethylene or propylene glycol, diethylene glycol, or glycerol), 0-0.015 % of an EDTA salt or ester (VII); and H2O (to 100 %).
