Zusammenfassung:	Thermotropic liquid crystalline aromatic polyesters comprise: (a) units derived from one or more dicarboxylic aromatic acids of the formula: HOOC-Ar1-O-Ar2-COOH (1) in which: Ar1 is a divalent aromatic radical consisting of one ring, or of a plurality of condensed, partially codensed or non condensed rings, containing from 6 to 18 carbon atoms, and which may be substituted Ar2 is a divalent aromatic radical consisting of a plurality of condensed, partially condensed or non-condensed rings, containing from 12 to 18 (b) units derived from one or more aromatic diols of the formula: HO-Ar3-OH (2) in which Ar3 is a divalent aromatic radical consisting of one ring, or of a plurality of condensed, partially condensed or non-condensed rings, containing from 6 to 18 carbon atoms, and which may be substituted and if desired, units derived from one or more other aromatic diacids and/or hydroxy acids of the formulae: (c) HOOC-Ar3-COOH (3) (in which Ar3 is as defined above), and (d) HO-Ar3-(CH=CH)n-COOH (4) (in which Ar3 is as defined above and n is 0 or 1). e
