Zusammenfassung:	Gas detonation coating appts. comprises a barrel enclosed in a casing and having a powder sprayer projecting into it, while associated with the barrel is a spark plug located in a tube. A buffer unit is provided between the gas supply and the barrel, there being a gas heating means with its control located on the barrel end. Pref. the inner surface of the barrel closure and/or the cylindrical inner surface of the inlet end of the barrel are provided with annular grooves.
