Burner for plasma treatment of materials

The tongs are used for clamping a non-melting electrode, and a tube of electrically non-conductive material insulates the electrode unit from the inner housing. A regulator is provided for the clamping force of thespring components of the tongs. The electrode unit is so fitted in the electrically non-conductive tube that it can be adjustably moved in the longitudinal axis direction of the burner when the electrode is worn out. The tongs have a shaft or neck in which are cooling channels, and are fitted in a metal tube, one end of which has a conical interior working in conjunction with the tongs spring components. The other end of the tube supports the regulators for the clamping force of the spring components and for adjustable movement of the electrode unit in the longitudinal axis direction of the burner. These regulators partly issue in the surface of the outer housing via tracks.
