Zusammenfassung: | The machining method consists in main and feed movements imparted to the work and/or a round-edge tool. The edge is turned angularly around an axis normal to the edge plane to always present a non-worn edge sector. The angular turns of the cutter should only be in one direction up to half the edge (4)/work (1) contact angle (PSI). The time it takes a given point on the cutting edge to pass through the contact angle should be long enough to ensure uniform wear. The angular tool movement should be achieved by moving points on the cutting edge (4) through the cutting zone in the feed direction (S) during cutting, pref. when the cross-sectional area of the layer removed from the work is below its max. value. The time (Tan) a given point on the edge (4) remains in work from the start of one turn to the start of the next, and the turn value should be varied during cutting such that TAU PSI/PHI Z = const. Tau is the cycle time for each point on the cutting edge, PSI being the contact angle between the edge and work and PHI, the angle through which the cutter is turned round an axis normal to the edge plane. Z is the frequency, the cutting edge passes through the cutting zone. |
