Zusammenfassung: | The ship's rudder assembly aligns the shaft and pintle together with the blade by fitting together the surfaces to be mated. The rudder blade, shaft, and pintle relative positions are fixed, then assembled and shaft and pintle joints with the blade compressed. At least one joint has spacers inserted between the adjoining surfaces (8). The aligning is effected by adjusting the spacers. The shaft (1) and pintle (2) are then fitted to the blade (3) in the positions determined by aligning, utilising the spacers, and the gaps left between the surfaces are filled with a self-hardening polymer. Joint compression is effected via the polymer in and time saving assembly, with corrosion protection. (First major country equivalent to ES8601044) |
