Glass sheet press ring with articulated end sections

An articulated press ring for supporting and bending glass sheets comprises a main body section and a pair of opposite articulated end sections for pivoting relative to the body section. Pivoting of the end sections is effected by a fluid cylinder and piston with a gear rack connected at one end to the piston and at the other end to one of the end sections, another gear rack connected to the other end section and a pinion gear meshing with both racks. Adjusting screws engaging the racks may be included for angularly adjusting the positions of the end sections at various operative positions of the press ring.
