Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a piecing device having an interruption mechanism for shortening the yarn to a length suitable for piecing, a discharge channel for discharging the severed yarn end, and an outlet channel for drawing off the spun-out yarn. According to the invention, the outlet channel (26) contains a displaceable tube (42) which, in the course of the piecing process, projects into the yarn draw-off channel of the spinning unit and which eliminates the influence of the discharge channel (19). Preferably, there is likewise provided a gap (46) which is arranged, in the spinning operation, between the exit of the discharge channel (7) and the entry (36) into the piecing mechanism and which communicates with the spinning atmosphere.
