Zusammenfassung:	A moving bond screen press for dewatering sludge has a means 12 for monitoring the flow of filtrate from filtration zone 10, and thereby are controlled the variable speed pump 20 which delivers sludge to the press, variable speed pumps 28, 30 which supply flocculant to the sludge upstream of respective mixers 18, 19, and variable speed motor 9 which drives the press screen bonds. Use of flocculant is optimised despite variations in solids-content of the sludge.
