Zusammenfassung: | A valve for automatically throttling part of the flow through a pipe as an inverse function of the pressure comprises a tubular fitting containing a cylindrical core which the flow can pass via a combination of longitudinal external channels and a coaxial bore. A stiff but flexible disc is supported a short distance upstream of the inlet of the bore by spacers which are integral with the core and which are extended to hold the disc coaxial with the bore. As the pressure on the upstream face of the disc rises, the disc deflects to reduce the clearance between the disc and the face of the core around the entrance to the bore, thus throttling radial flow behind the disc into the bore. Flow down the external channel on the core remains unimpeded. The flexible discs and appropriate cores are easier to make than alternative designs involving an annular flexible seal to selectively throttle the external channels past the core instead of the coaxial bore. Esp. suitable for systems involving electromechanical valves as used on washing machines, and dishwashers. The external channels along the core may have rectangular or radiused cross-sections. |
