Zusammenfassung: | Properties of corrosion resistant copper-nickel alloys, of compsn. 4-35% Ni, 0-3% Mn, 0-3% Fe, 0-3% Si, balance Cu and impurities, are improved by subjecting the alloys, before or after hot working, to a homogenisation anneal at 700-1050 (pref. 800-1000) deg.C for at least 1 hr., and then cooling, using a rapid cooling rate over the 800-350 deg.C temp. range. Treatment improves the hot cracking resistance so that the alloys have improved weldability and hot workability. |
