Zusammenfassung:A method for assembling a plurality of members 55, 60 (figure 4) by riveting includes the steps of preforming the rivet head, sizing the rivet shank portion to the rivet receiving apertures in the members and reformation of the geometry of the juncture of the rivet head and shank to minimize free play in the final assembly. The initial rivet is preformed and sized between a punch 47 and apertured die 45 (figure 1), the die giving the underside of the head a concave shape. Free play in the final joint is thereby minimized.
