Zusammenfassung:	The short circuit ring position sensor with an iron core consisting of a set of laminated plates (1) enables the position of a short circuit ring around the core to be determined via the inductance variation of the core coil and associated frequency, time, or amplitude analogue circuitry. It operates unaffected by the stray magnetic fields in the core and winding. The core has a screen (2-7) of an electrically good conductor covering at least part of its external surface. The screen material is copper, aluminium, brass, or iron and partly consists of a copper or aluminium olate (2,3) covering the outer iron core laminates and having the same profile as the iron plates. The pile of core plates (1) is held together by a pair of copper or aluminium clips (5).
