Zusammenfassung:	Molten metal is introduced into a mould space defined between a pair of opposed moving surfaces, at least one of which is constituted by a flexible heat-conducting steel belt provided at the casting zone with a plurality of spaced belt supports in contact with the reverse surface of the belt, and means for applying coolant to the belt characterised so that the belt is held firmly against its supports by magnetic force so as to move in a predetermined path and the spacing of the belt supports is so related to the characteristics of the belt that an unsupported area of the belt lying between adjacent supports acts as stiff element.
