Zusammenfassung: | In a control system for flash welding the welding pulse duration is measured during the fusion operation for every period of the reciprocating movements of the clamping jaws with the workpieces. The measured duration is compared with a desired value. In case of a deviation, the velocity of movement or the amplitude of the movement of the workpieces relative to each other is altered accordingly. This keeps the energy input for each pulse constant so that the workpieces are heated more uniformly, the quality of the weld is raised and the welding time can be reduced. The allowance for the fused part can also be reduced. |
