Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a resilient membrane (1) for a pressure measuring device for determining a pressure in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine particularly a self- igniting internal combustion engine, wherein the membrane is received in a housing (2) of the pressure measuring device in order to separate a pressure chamber (3) from a cavity (4) and to seal the housing against the pressure to be measured. The membrane has a pressurised region. In addition the membrane has an annular design and has a U- shape that is open to the cavity in a cross -section wherein the pressurised region of the membrane is geometrically formed by two quarter- circles connected to each other such that the pressurised region has a self- supporting structure against occurring pressure loads.
