Zusammenfassung:222The invention relates to a process for the production of chlorine dioxide (CIO) from hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sodium chlorite (NaCIO) in the presence of water (HO). The invention addresses the problem of improving the method in such a way that it can be installed and implemented in a more cost effective way. The problem is solved in that the hydrochloric acid is used in an aqueous solution with a concentration of 27 to 33 wt% the sodium chlorite is used in an aqueous solution with a concentration of 22 to 27 wt% and the molar ratio of hydrochloric acid used to sodium chlorite used is between 2.14 and 4.2.
