Zusammenfassung:	The current invention discloses an adaptive cruise control (ACC) system in a vehicle with a camera capturing at least one image of a road in front of the vehicle. The ACC system of the current invention is characterized in that an image processing means receiving the at least one image of the road from the camera determines a friction co-efficient of the road and a safety calculation means calculates a safety index of the vehicle depending on the determined friction co-efficient of the road.
