The process in accordance with the present disclosure comprises reacting an alkyl sulfenyl halide, an aminopyrazole, an amine salt and a solvent in an inert atmosphere in the temperature range of -20 to 50°C. The alkyl sulfenyl halide can be pre-formed and introduced to the reaction or can be generated in-situ.
