APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING PARBOILED RICE

The purpose of the invention is to provide an apparatus for producing parboiled rice that is capable of producing good quality parboiled rice efficiently without increasing the overall size of the apparatus. This apparatus for producing parboiled rice is characterized in being provided with: a drum on the circumferential surface of which an ingredient hatch is provided and which is disposed so as to be rotatable around a horizontal shaft center; a heating means that is disposed inside the drum and is for heating the interior of said drum; a stirring means that is disposed inside the drum and is for stirring the ingredient placed in the drum from the ingredient hatch; a steam supplying means for supplying steam into the drum; a pressure adjusting means that has a valve which allows connection of the inside of the drum with the outside air and that enables the inside of the drum to be pressurized by steam supplied from the steam supplying means as a result of closing the valve during the processing of the ingredient using a pressurized steaming process; a water adding means that is disposed inside the drum and is for adding water to the ingredient inside the drum; and a drying means for drying the ingredient by depressurizing the interior of the drum.
