Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of the compound (R)-3-((3,5-dichloro-4'-(4-(trifluoromethyl)piperidine-1-carbonyl)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)methyl)-1-(4-hydroxypiperidin-1-yl)pyrrolidin-2-onem (compound of formula (I)), which is an inhibitor of 11ß-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 enzyme (11- ß-HSD1). The compound of formula (I) is useful in the treatment of diseases or disorders mediated by the modulation of 11-ß-HSD1, such as cognitive disorders and metabolic disorders. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the compound of formula (I).
