Zusammenfassung:	1533247 Non-ionic dye and brightener preparations CIBA-GEIGY AG 5 Nov 1975 [6 Sept 1975] 45935/75 Headings D1B and DIP Preparations of non-ionic dyes or optical brighteners are obtained by forming the dye or brightener in a polyhydroxy polymeric material whose hydroxyl groups have been chemically modified to make the polymer hydrophobic before or during the formation of the dye or optical brightener on the polymeric material. The dyes may be styryl, azo, diphenylamine, anthraquinone, stilbene or mixtures thereof, and the polyhydroxy material may be of natural or synthetic origin, e.g. starch, dextrin, aminosugar, cellulose, gums, and polyvinyl alcohol. The hydroxy groups may be esterified with carboxylic acids or etherified e.g. methylated, ethylated or cyanoethylated. Dyestuff intermediates may be simultaneously acetylated with the polymeric compound.
