Zusammenfassung:	Apparatus and methods for efficient frequency doubling of electromagnetic radiation emitted by a high repetition rate, low pump energy laser (10) by means of a bulk periodically poled crystal (12) placed externally to an emitting radiation cavity, without requiring an internal cavity or external cavity for enhancing the second harmonic created by the incoming radiation. The crystal (12) may be cooled by a thermo-electric device (24).
