Zusammenfassung:	Hard abrasive particles are provided comprising diamond nuclei and single crystal or polycrystal cubic boron nitride layers coating the surfaces of said diamond nuclei, in which the diamond nuclei are bonded to the cubic boron nitride layers by the atoms thereof, to give materials having the hardness of diamond and usable for grinding, abrasion and the like of the iron group metals. A method of producing such particles is also disclosed.
