Zusammenfassung:Oil drilling mud compsn. contains carboxy-methyl-cellulose (CMC) of low salt content, medium substitution and of high viscosity, and/or tannic-acid, and/or formaldehyde and/or Fe (III) salts to ensure maximum well output and practically no blocking of the capacity of a water yielding formation, brought into prodn. - The compsn. is prepd. by mixing 7-15 pts.wt. CMC (e.g. MAVIBOND CPA 2000 or -CPA 3000 (RTM)), with 900-1000 pts.wt. water at 5-40 deg.C; followed by 0.1-5 pts.wt. tannic acid, and/or 0.07-2.5 pts.wt. formaldehyde soln. (30%) and 0.02-0.8 pts. of an aq. Fe (III) pref. FeCl3 soln. (10%).
