Zusammenfassung:A novel prepn. of coumarine derivs. of general formula (1), where R1 = hydrogen or halogen atom, 1-4C alkyl gp., 3-6 cycloalkyl or aryl gp. R2 as R1 but no halogen atom. R3 as R1, with hydroxy gp. in addn- consists of dissolving a phenol deriv. in a beta-keto-carboxylic-acid-ester solvent, acid adding this soln. to an acid catalyst contg. solvent, which forms an azeotrope with water and is heated to the azaotropic mixts. opt. Water and alcohol produced during reaction is distilled off gradually.
