Zusammenfassung: | A bort powder layer is applied to a carrier blank and is processed by a hard metal element to incorporate the powder into the blank surface. The process comprises rotating the element at a speed 900-2500 r.p.s., whilst applying an impact pulse at 200-800 kN/s between the blank and element. - The blank may be a disc which during, and as a result of, the process is deformed to produce a part-spherical tool with a radius exceeding 3-10 times the initial disc radius. The powder may contain 20-60 vol% of granular bort with the balance of a low-melting metal (e.g. Sn), or the blank may first be plated with such metal. |
