Zusammenfassung:	An equipment for the heat treatment of free-running bulk materials specially catalysts in the chemical industry in the size range from 1 to 25mm, consists of a heat insulated shaft of heat resistant section, each with a horizontal stage with an overflow slot and with working chambers forming a descending zigzag path. - Slotted recesses in the insulation of each chamber are on one side joined to vertical gas ducts for a pulsed compressed air or insert gas supply. Vertical channels connect this to the other recess of the next higher chamber which ejects the fluid in the chamber. Heating is by electric elements or gas.
