Zusammenfassung:A reagent is added to a highly turbulent stream of the suspension. Turbulent flow of the mixture is maintained as long as required by the faster chemical reactions or dissolving processes. The mixture is then passed through agitated tanks for the time needed by the slower reactions/dissolving processes. The equipment comprises a mixer unit containing static mixer elements and reagent feed pipes. The mixer unit is based on alternate sections having interconnected single and multiple pipes, forcing the flow of material to divide or re-join at the end of each section. Using the proposed equipment, reagent usage is reduced and the recovery of valuable components is enhanced.
