Zusammenfassung:	Process for localizing element concentrations in the edge regions of a horizontally finished cast rod made of alloyed non-ferrous metals comprises removing a longitudinal section (3) from a cast rod, removing a surface layer of determined thickness from this section forming a sample body, testing the metal composition by spectral analysis in the longitudinal direction of the strip, and numerically and/or graphically representing the element concentrations with the aid of a computer (11).
