Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a method to produce a sheet of a material containing alkaloids, the method comprising:-mixing particles of the material containing alkaloids, a binder, an aerosol former and water to form a slurry;-casting (100) the slurry to form a cast sheet;-drying (101) the cast sheet by means of a heated fluid;-recovering heat (103) from exhausts produced during drying;-recovering volatile substances from exhausts produced during drying; and-obtaining a flavor extract from the recovered volatile substances.
