Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method for operating an extraneously excited electric machine, in which an exciter current (lex) is set in the context of control. The exciter current (lex) is increased if a phase angle (φυ) of a voltage is greater than a phase angle (φι) of a current or greater than the phase angle of the current offset by 180°, in each case in d-q co-ordinates. The exciter current (lex) is reduced if the phase angle (φυ) of the voltage is smaller than the phase angle (φι) of the current or smaller than the phase angle of the current offset by 180°, in each case in d-q co-ordinates.
