The shank (4) is provided with at least two first flutes (34) that run along the axis (2) and at least a second helical flute (31). The first flutes (34) and the second flute (31) cross each other at several crossings (41).The width (35) of the first flute 34 steadily decreases over the area between two adjacent crossings (41) from one of the crossings (41) all the way to the narrowest place (42) and subsequently steadily increases all the way to the other crossing (41).
