EQUIPMENT FOR TESTING THE CONSISTENCY OF VISCOUS MATERIALS,MAINLY OF AQUEOUS SUSPENSIONS PREPARED FROM SAMPLES OF WHEAT GRIST

The appts. is used for investigation of viscous matter, preferably the determination of the consistency of crushed corn suspensions with a water content. The appts. comprises a frame, a container for reception of the sample for examination, a stirrer projecting into the container, and a drive producing an alternating movement between stirrer and container. The stirrer (7) is independent of the drive (2,3,4), the container only (5) being drive-connected for alternating movement. An electromagnet (8) attaches the stirrer (7) to the frame (1) with a plate (9) acting as its guide. A vessel (6) containing a heating bath accommodates the container, and on one side of the stirrer (7) is a light source, with a sensor (11) on its other side. An electrical control and time measurement connection is linked to the drive motor (2), the electromagnet (8) and the sensor (11). (Provisional Basic advised week E06)
