SEPARATION OF MICROPLASTICS

The present invention discloses a treatment method comprising the steps of adding a collagen material or a derivative thereof to a hydrophilic liquid comprising microplastic and/or nanoplastic materials which hydrophilic liquid is present in a container so as to adsorb and/or physically bind said microplastic and/or nanoplastic materials present in said hydrophilic liquid, and separating said adsorbed and/or physically bound microplastic and/or nanoplastic materials from the hydrophilic liquid; and the use of a collagen material or a derivative thereof in separating microplastics and/or nanoplastics from a hydrophilic liquid comprising microplastics and/or nanoplastics.
