Zusammenfassung:A polymer-based composite sandwich includes a core (32) bonded between fiber reinforced resin facesheets (34, 36). The core (32) includes a truss formed by groups of composite pins (40) held in a low density foam (46). The pins (40) in each group intersect to form nodes adjacent to one of the facesheets (34, 36). The ends (40b, c) of the pins (40) extend parallel and are bonded to the facesheets (34, 36) ( Fig. 4 ).
