Zusammenfassung:A method for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disorders, together with a pharmaceutical composition comprising short chain fatty acids that is useful therein, is described in this invention. The administration of short chain fatty acids of about 2 to about 6 carbon-length to patients afflicated with inflammatory bowel disorders is shown to effectively alleviate the symptoms of the treated disorder.
