Single wheel with wheel hub motor for railway vehicles

The invention relates to a single wheel with wheel hub motor for rail vehicles, the wheel hub motor driving the single wheel either directly or with intermediate connection of a gear system and the drive unit (1) which is formed from motor and gear system, or the motor, being integrated into the single wheel. The object of the invention has consisted in finding a suspension of the wheel tyre (3) on the drive unit (1) which is compact and insensitive to the operating temperatures, occurring during travelling mode, of the drive unit (1) and to the heat radiation of the drive unit. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the wheel tyre (3) of the single wheel is arranged fixed in terms of rotation directly on the outer surface (2) of the drive unit (1) with intermediate connection of an elastic intermediate layer (4) and of a thermally insulating intermediate layer (5).
