Zusammenfassung:A synchronous machine having a rotor which is fixed to a shaft supported in bearings, said machine having its rotor (1) and stator (2) windings cooled by very low temperature helium, with each of the windings and the gap (4) therebetween being in a vacuum enclosures. The said rotor and stator windings and the said gap are disposed inside a common enclosure (13) connected to a common vacuum source (17), and said gap is separated from the bearings (14) of the rotor shaft (3) by vacuum-resisting oil seals (15) and by cryogenic traps (16).
