SMOKING ARTICLE

The present invention relates to a smoking article which produces an aerosol that resembles tobacco smoke, but contains no more than a minimal amount of incomplete combustion or pyrolysis products. The aim of the invention is to improve the smoking properties of the article by reducing the heat losses in the radial direction. The smoking article comprises a short combustible carbonaceous fuel element 1, a mouthend piece, a separate means to create the aerosole. The article is provided with heat insulation element 8 covering the part of the fuel element and/or the part of the means for creating aerosole to separate and concentrate the heat in the fuel element. The heat insulation element 8 can represent the layer of airtight fiber material and can be made elastic from ceramic fiber, for example glass fiber and its thickness makes 0,5-2,5 mm.
