' In a microwave direction-finding system four directional aerials are associated with a single omnidirectional aerial to provide a diametric CRT trace inclined at the bearing angle. As shown, the directional aerials Al, A2, A3 and A4 are connected to balanced mixers Bl, B2, B3, B4 the outputs from which are applied to the CRT E through the I.F. amplifiers C and detectors and video amplifiers D. The omnidirectional aerial A5 and the oscillator H feed the mixer G which has an output frequency different from that at A5 by the intermediate frequency of amplifiers C. Each mixer B is fed from G to produce an I.F. signal for amplification in C. Specification 953,430 is referred to. '
