Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A machine for the quenching of rolled sections consists of a tank of liquid into which the sections are immersed and are then removed therefrom by means of a device consisting of an intermittently rotating drum on which are mounted spiders carrying freely suspended carriages, the latter being equipped with rollers for straightening and holding the sections. As shown in Fig. 1, drum 10 is supported on rollers 12 and carries a number of spiders 15, from the extremities of which are freely suspended carriages 20 by means of journals 19, Fig. 3. The carriages consist of a frame 21 on which are mounted upper rollers 22 and lower rollers 23, which may be shaped and plain respectively as shown in Fig. 4. The space above the quenchant may be filled with inert gas by means of pipe 8. The drum is periodically advanced through 30 degrees, a fresh section being loaded between each movement, and the quenched sections are discharged after traversing through 300 degrees.
