Zusammenfassung: | The invention comprises condensation products obtained by reacting certain water-soluble polyamine interaction products with sulphonium salts which in the presence of an alkaline reagent liberate cations of formula where R1 and R2 are hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups and R3 is the group -CR1=CHR2 or an alkyl, alicyclic, aralkyl, aromatic or heretocyclic residue. The water-soluble polyamine interaction products are those obtained (i) by the reaction of aliphatic polyamines containing at least two primary amino groups with polyalkyoxy diesters (see Specification 797,175); (ii) by condensing a polyalkylene polyamine with an alkylene oxide and reacting the condensate with a halide of an ethylene oxide; (iii) by reacting a N-(carboxyalkyl)-, N-(aminocarbonylalkyl)-, N-(cyanoalkyl)- or N-(carbalkoxyalkyl)- substituted substituted aliphatic polyamine with a halide of an ethylene oxide condensate; and (iv) by reacting N-(b -hydroxyethyl)-ethylene diamine with a halide of an ethylene oxide condensate. The polymers may be used as antistatic agents and may be applied to fabrics by impregnating the fabric with an aqueous solution of the polyamine interaction product and the sulphonium salt, drying at below 80 DEG C., and either baking at 80 DEG to 210 DEG C. or wetting with an aqueous solution of an alkali, e.g. sodium hydroxide. In examples polymers are prepared by reacting disodium tris-(b -sulphatoethyl) sulphonium inner salt with the reaction product of the dichloride prepared from a polyoxethylene and thionyl chloride with diethylene triamine, bis-hexamethylene triamine reacted with acrylic acid and b -ethoxyethanol, N-(b -hydroxyethyl) ethylene diamine, and diethylene triamine reacted with acrylic acid and b -ethoxyethanol.ALSO:Fabrics are impregnated with antistatic agents obtained by reacting certain water-soluble polyamine interaction products with sulphonium salts which in the presence of an alkaline reagent liberate cations of formula where R1 and R2 are hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups and R3 is the group -CR1 = CHR2 or an alkyl, alicyclic, aralkyl, aromatic or heterocyclic residue. The water-soluble polyamine interaction products are those obtained (i) by the reaction of aliphatic polyamines containing at least two primary amino groups with polyalkyoxy diesters (see Specification 797,175); (ii) by condensing a polyalkylene polyamine with an alkylene oxide and reacting the condensate with a halide of an ethylene oxide |
