To reduce the tendency of a windscreen wiper to be lifted off the windscreen by the wind, the wiping lip 16, Fig. 3, is mounted at or near one longitudinal edge of the body 18, the lower face of which is roughly parallel with the windscreen 17. Holes 25 may be made in the support member 18, which may also be slotted to carry the wiper assembly 10.
