Zusammenfassung: | Condensation products of mono-, di- or tri-methylol-ketones are obtained by reacting the monomers using as a catalyst (a) a 40% to 60% aqueous solution of sodium or potassium hydroxide, or (b) an alcoholic solution of sodium or potassium alcoholate, or (c) an alcoholic solution of sodium or potassium hydroxide. The catalyst may be used in a concentration of 0.5% to 5.0% by volume. Foams may be obtained especially when aqueous sodium or potassium hydroxide is used. Fillers, plasticizers and foam regulators may be included. In examples resins are obtained from an acetone-methylol compound containing an average of 1.7 methylol groups per molecule using a 50% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution as catalyst. |
