Zusammenfassung: | 978,024. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 26, 1963 [Nov. 29, 1962], No. 45112/62. Heading H2A. A liquid cooled rotor 11 has the cooling liquid fed to and from the cooling ducts 20-24 associated with the rotor winding through respective inlet and outlet passages 27, 72 in the rotor body 10, and including resilient inlet and outlet connectors 62 for conveying the cooling liquid between the cooling ducts and the inlet and outlet passages. Fig. 2 shows the outlet end of the rotor with coaxial inlet and outlet passages at the centre of the rotor body. The cooling fluid from the groups of hollow conductors is fed through the hollow connectors 54, only are shown, via resilient plastic pipes 62 into covered axial troughs around the rotor body and then via radial passages 71 into the outlet passage 72. The cooling fluid feeding arrangements, Fig. 1 (not shown), are similar to the outlet arrangements. The end of the first coil 50 is held in position by a wedge 53 and is connected to one of the slip rings. The end windings are held in position by a closely fitting end bell, Fig. 3 (not shown). |
